Wow! I really loved the movie The Jewel in the Crown. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Peggy Ashcroft deliver some award-winning performances in this movie. I also think Derrick Branche was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.

I think Peggy Ashcroft and Derrick Branche worked wonderful in The Jewel in the Crown. The great supporting cast includes Peggy Ashcroft, Derrick Branche, Charles Dance, Geraldine James, Rachel Kempson.

You should see it, make no mistake this is a definite blockbuster!

Summary of The Jewel in the Crown:
The Jewel in the Crown, adapted from Paul Scott's Raj Quartet novels, tells the story of the final years before India gained independence in 1947. It is rare for a filmed adaptation to successfully preserve the richness and complexity of a great novel, but this epic miniseries succeeds both as personal drama and historical panorama.

In 1942 Daphne Manners, a naive young woman newly arrived in the town of Mayapore, befriends Hari Kumar, an Indian-born journalist who has spent most of his life in England. With his dark skin and educated English accent, Hari feels like an outsider wherever he goes, but Daphne understands his plight and they become romantically involved. Their developing relationship is jealously observed by local police chief Ronald Merrick, a man haunted by his own demons. When the lovers are attacked in the gardens of the ruined Bibighar palace and Daphne is raped, Merrick seizes his opportunity, pins the crime on Hari, and has the young man jailed. Distraught, Daphne flees to her aunt's home in Kashmir, where she dies giving birth to a half-caste child. The focus then shifts to Sarah Layton, a young Englishwoman who becomes fascinated by the story of Daphne and Hari, and who will have her own encounter with Ronald Merrick.

The events in the Bibighar gardens become a symbol of the violent struggle for Indian independence, and other symbols--Daphne's bicycle, a length of butterfly lace, a picture of Queen Victoria on an Indian throne--appear and reappear, linking people and events. This helps to give coherence to the plot even as it spans five years and expands to include many characters whose lives intersect in complex and unexpected ways.

With a huge cast and breathtaking location photography, The Jewel in the Crown was an enormous undertaking when it was made in the early 1980s. Twenty years later it has lost none of its power, and it remains one of the best films ever made for television. --Simon Leake

Gatchaman, Vol, 10: Jet Cutters and the Giant Buddha- It is a movie that everyone can enjoy together.This is something not usually seen in movies of this type, so it makes it an unusual, yet pleasant experience.The movie is absolutely stunning and Katsuji Mori deliver some award-winning performances in this movie. I also think Isao Sasaki was great!

I think Katsuji Mori and Isao Sasaki worked wonderful in Gatchaman, Vol, 10: Jet Cutters and the Giant Buddha. The great supporting cast includes Katsuji Mori, Isao Sasaki, Kazuko Sugiyama, Yoku Shioya, Shingo Kanemoto.

You should see it, make no mistake this is a definite blockbuster!

Summary of Gatchaman, Vol, 10: Jet Cutters and the Giant Buddha:
First, it's a battle beneath the ocean when Galactor tricks the Science Ninja Team into unleashing devastating pollution into the Tarushia Sea. How can they save the sea while battling a giant magnetic tanker that is cracking the God Phoenix's hull? Then in episode 56, Jun is attacked by Galactor's Black Bird biker gang. The gang leader is a childhood friend of Jun's and has his crosshairs aimed at the President! Next, an ex-con sniper is given an attack tank with a powerful freeze gun to eliminate the Science Ninja Team. Will our heroes escape "The Evil White Sea?" In episode 58; Ken buts heads with Dr. Nambu as the team goes on a mission to recover the ISO's powerful Jet Cutter. While in pursuit they are attacked by stone Buddha's and Galactor's massive Mecha-Buttha! Then in episode 59, Gatchaman travels to Ghost Island to destroy a giant Galactor mecha factory. A battle ensues and Gatchaman has the chance to finally unmask the diabolical Berg Katse! And finally, a young Galactor amnesiac befriends the Science Ninja Team and offers to help them expose enemy mecha weaknesses. The team gets captured however, and the affectionately dubbed "G-6" has his crosshairs trained on Ken!
